City of Fallen Angels

He crept through the shadows, slow, eyeing the others walking by him. They didn’t think anything of him, just another mindless teenager. Two others came up behind him and followed his trail right on his back and soon stood in the alley with a fourth.
The first, a medium sized teenager, dark green eyes and black hair that streamed over one side of his face and just past his ears in the modern goth or emo style. A large chunk of white hair covering his right eye, his skin tanned and happened to be the most handsome of the group, and the group leader.
The second also had black hair, short and spiked with dark red tips, his vibrant blue eyes sparkled in the darkness and pierced any shadow. He was tall and lean, pale and seemed very strong, he was the muscle of the group.
The third was different then the others, he had longer blonde hair, not reaching further then an inch to his shoulders, he was smaller and skinnier with brown eyes, though he looked like he could carry his own weight in a fight he was more known for his smarts.
The last was a red haired teen, who had dark blue eyes that somehow matched brilliantly with his tanned skin and muscular complexion. All four dressed in modern teenage rocker apparel.
The red head smiled darkly and looked at their group leader who nodded softly.
“Don’t make yourself stand out, alright? Especially you pyro.” The first said and the red head grumbled.
“Come on Alex, you know me.”
“That’s what I’m afraid of.” The other boys laughed and they all entered the building across the alley way from them. As soon as the large metal door opened, the loud sound of guitars and vocals echoed outside into the cloudy night. The door shut behind them locking the sounds in once again, as the group walked through the crowd that split before them and took a seat in a booth directly across from the stage. Currently only a DJ was playing music but soon enough a band would come on and the real fun would begin. The band had already begin to set up their equipment in the dusky old ragged bar, the red and black accents on the instruments matched well with the gothic style decorating the bar.
This bar was the teenage hang out, after school on Friday the teenagers would meet at the mall, park, skate park, and various other places to be here at sun down, likewise on the weekends. The teenagers had nicknamed this bar after the City of Lost Angels, coining the name City of the Fallen Angels, the name it was known for. The real name of the bar happened to be Demonica, but not a place for only the Goths to hang out at, but a common ground for all teenagers alike. Originally that is, now after the Goth stereotype continuously showed up in larger numbers it has become the home of the Goth and rockers, no other stereotype generally enjoyed in its dark pleasures. The group that had entered Demonica was a band of brothers, Alexander, the leader, and Ayden, the pyro, Evangeline and Kenn, the muscles and Kelvin, the brains, Jennet. The four of them were the most popular in their ‘type for being the cutest, strongest, and most likely to get into heavy fights. No matter where they were, they were always together, always protecting one another seeming like they had a lot of enemies. Alexander, nicknames Alex by his friends, glanced around the bar as if waiting for someone important or unwanted to pass by his glance.
“You alright Alex?” Kelvin asked and he nodded softly smiling and looking at the others.
“It’s only Thursday,” Ayden smiled nudging Alex in the side with a wink.
“Hey Rebecca!” Kenn shouted all of a sudden and four girls started walking towards them.
“Hey guys.” They all replied at once, sitting with them at the table. A blonde moved in close to Alex kissing his cheek.
“Claire...” Alex grumbled pushing her off but she just wrapped her small arms around him, giving up with a sigh as he ordered his drink.
“Alright!” someone shouted into the microphone on the stage calling the attention of everyone in the bar. “tonight’s band is a local one, Crimson Shadows.” Cheers echoed immediately following the name of the band as guitars slammed into rhythm.
A female stepped up to the microphone taking a breath from in between beautiful dark lips reflected on light skin. Black and grey outlined metallic blue eyes opened and eyed the crowd, as she strummed a pick across the lead guitar. The guitars silenced together allowing a more dramatic entry of the vocals.
“Spread your dark wings now, love. Fly high into the blackened sky and, show me what it’s like.” The guitars slammed together again in a dark tune as she continued singing.
“Hey, check that chick out.” Kenn said with a smile pointing at the singer.
“She looks familiar, doesn’t she?” Ayden whispered to Alex who shrugged not looking but his gaze crossed hers and he froze in his seat.

((here you are Nay-nay))

“Take me high! High into the darkened sky; my evil angel fly away, fall from me.” She sang the chorus louder repeating it once before breaking out into a heavy bridge. He was caught momentarily within her sharp eyes as she didn’t even seem to notice him. The music slowed to a stop and she smiled laughing softly, “we don’t like to get too romantic with what we say to you guys, but just a few quick words.” Laughs and whistles followed from some guys in the crowd, other girls clapped, “we’re the Crimson Shadow, I’m Aura ‘the Raven’ Shadow, that’s our guitarist Johnny ‘the glass’ Steel, and our drummer Preston ‘the nail’ Young. Thanks for having us out here. That was Fallen Angel, and now we’ll break into—“
“Dance with the Devil!” someone shouted from the crowd and Aura laughed looking at the band.
“Alright, we’ll do that.” She pulled away from the microphone and the song started.
“Aura…” Alex muttered under his breath, “excuse me,” he stood from the group and walked over to the bartender, “where’s Wesley?” he asked and the bartender glanced up to the VIP booth, then pointed, “thanks.”
Turning Alex made his way to the stairs. Wesley Wright was the owner of the bar, and hired the bands to entertain everyone. He was sincere and kind, but like most single men who had money and power, perverted. Alex stopped at the door and knocked, a playboy looking girl answered the door and allowed him in.
“Alexander! What can I do yah for buddy?” Wesley asked standing and pulling Alex into a hug.
“I need to know about that girl there.”
“Raven?” he asked looking over at her then back at him, “what do you want to know?”
“Everything.”
Wesley started laughing, “my boy, it’s time you learn to talk to a girl, if you’re gonna get any information about her, it won’t be from me.”
“Is she single?”
“Yes, but that’s-“
“How old is she?”
“18 and that’s all I’ll tell you, now get, she doesn’t have a lot of time up there, only an hour, so get to her after the show.” He said pushing Alex towards the door, “now get.” He shut the door behind him and Alex went downstairs in a huff sitting back in his spot with Claire wrapping her arms around him. The song had an immediate stop and she pulled back from the microphone again, this time pushing hair back behind her ear.
The next song started and from then, the time seemed to stop and freeze as Alexander waited patiently for her, for the music to stop. Finally, she backed away for the last time removing the guitar and setting it aside, “thank you, everyone for your support.” With hoots and hollers she went off backstage with the band.
Alexander had attempted to get up but his group was leaving and as the leader, went along with the group still with Claire hanging off his arm. He grumbled along with the others kind of ignoring what they said and did for the most part, especially when Claire kissed his neck softly.
Aura sat back watching her equipment being packed into the van when her cell phone started to ring, pulling it out and grumbling at the number she moved from the group and stood alone opening the phone. She brought it slowly to her ear and didn’t say anything.
“You’re late. You have five minutes to reach target destination. Tools have been provided.” The line went dead and she slipped the phone into her pocket. Waving the band off, she moved over to her motorcycle, a black crotch rocket with silver tribal dragons on it. Revving the engine she launched into the darkness. Speeding fast through the streets and cutting through alleys she sped to a halt under a dark shadow and left the bike and helmet there. She moved swiftly to the roof top and glanced around, her eye spotted a large black briefcase and she made her way over to it kneeling and opening it up. A slick and very dark smile played on her face.

Alexander sipped his drink on a rooftop of one of the tallest buildings in the city and the other boys laughed.
“What’s got you all in a bunch Alex?” Ayden asked the other boys quieted and looked at him.
“That girl…” he said softer, “there’s something about her.”
“Claire?” Kelvin asked and he shook his head.
“Aura, Raven,” he muttered looking down, “I don’t know what, I just know.” A shot echoed in the distance an inaudible noise in the distance that made all four heads shoot around to look at it.
“Was that…” Kelvin muttered.
“The Sniper,” Kenn finished and the three boys looked over at Alexander who stood and clenched his fist.
“Let’s go.” With a devilish smile all four jumped off the building.
They were soon at the building top where an empty briefcase sat, all looking around, “he’s gone already.” Ayden muttered.
“Thanks Einstein, but that’s Kelvin’s job.”
“Hey!” he said in a growl, the others laughed and Alexander kneeled down touching the brick ledge before him where a small scratch had indented itself. Closing his eyes a sharp brief memory screamed in his ears, ‘Mom!’ someone screamed
‘Alexander, get back! Alexander!’
“Alexander!” Ayden shouted and he stood looking at the others, “you alright? You kind of zoned out there for a minute.”
“Yeah, I’m alright.”
“Shit, cops…”Kenn growled, “time to go.” He jumped off the building into the alley below.
“See you tomorrow guys.” Kelvin followed and Ayden and Alexander did the same.
The next day came fast upon the teens and school as school was dragged on. Lunch came on the Teens finally at Shady Run High School, and the band of brothers sat in the courtyard not eating merely sitting laughing and talking.
Alexander slowed his laugh to a stop and glanced around behind him, looking around a girl moved across the courtyard and sat at an empty table, her long hair done up with a few black feathers poking out. He stared at her and stood, walking towards her when Claire was in his face halfway there.
“Hey baby.”
“Not now Claire.” He grumbled, trying to move past her but she moved with him.
“Why? Going to your other girlfriend?”
“Claire, I broke up with you a month ago, lay off.” He said now looking directly at her, and then pushed past her walking over towards the girl and stopping just behind her; thinking of what to say next.
A cold shiver ran sharp up Auras spin and she set down her fork looking over her shoulder, she turned around, “what does a guy like yourself want with me?” she asked with a small smile.
He could only smile for a moment, “may I sit?”
“I suppose,” she said with a shrug turning around and continuing to eat.
It was silent for a few minutes after he sat, as he still thought of what to say. Just when he thought of something she laughed softly and looked at him, “am I on your threat list or something, you’re awfully quiet, like thinking of how to tell me you’re gonna beat me up because of your girlfriend over there giving you a death glare.” He turned and looked at Claire who was glaring then smiled looking back.
“Don’t worry about her, and no I’m not going to beat you up, quite the opposite actually, the boys and I are gonna hang out tonight, would you like to join us?”
She closed her eyes for a brief moment and tightened her hand around the fork.
“Are you alright?”
She took a deep breath and stood, “I can’t I’m sorry, I’ve got….” She paused and shook her head, “I’m sorry.” She left quickly and he sighed rubbing his forehead.
“Oh, crash and burn.” Ayden laughed and Kenn hit him, “ow, what was that for?!” Alexander walked back towards the group and Claire smiled.
“You can’t have any girl but me, I’ll make sure of that.” She whispered darkly in his ear before walking away with the other girls.
